This blog post explores the use of artificial intelligence in media production. Before studying this topic, I had limited understanding of how AI is used in creative industries.
Through research and reflection, I learned that AI can support tasks such as editing, content generation, and data analysis. For example, AI tools can help improve efficiency by automating repetitive processes.
According to Nick Srnicek (2017), digital technologies, including AI, are reshaping industries by increasing automation and changing labour structures. This helped me understand the broader impact of AI beyond just media production.
However, I also considered the limitations of AI. While it can assist with technical tasks, it cannot fully replace human creativity and critical thinking. This is especially important in academic work, where original ideas are required.
Reflecting on my own work, I have used AI for brainstorming and structure, but I ensured that my final ideas and writing remained my own. This aligns with university guidelines on appropriate AI use.
In the future, I believe AI will continue to play an important role in media production. However, it is important to use it responsibly and ethically.
Overall, this topic helped me understand both the benefits and challenges of AI in creative work.
