In this post, I reflected on how digital tools influence creative production. At first, I believed creativity mainly depended on individual talent. However, I realised that digital technology plays a significant role in shaping creative processes.
During my workshops, I used tools such as Photoshop and Audacity. These tools allowed me to experiment with images and sound in ways that would not be possible using traditional methods. I found that digital platforms encourage experimentation and make it easier to edit and improve work.
According to Lev Manovich (2001), digital media allows for new forms of cultural expression through manipulation and remixing. This concept helped me understand that creativity in the digital age is often collaborative and iterative.
However, I also noticed that having too many tools can sometimes be overwhelming. It can be difficult to decide which techniques to use. This showed me the importance of planning and having a clear creative direction.
In the future, I aim to improve my technical skills while maintaining my own creative style. I also want to explore how digital creativity can be used for storytelling.
Overall, this topic helped me see creativity as a combination of skills, tools, and ideas rather than just natural talent.
